Sometimes you just don’t want to retrieve your car from the valet one more time. You want to get out and explore that charming little town that surrounds your hotel, or to run out to the bakery to pick up some coffee and pastries. Lucky for you, many of the Napa Valley’s hotels now offer bike rentals, and some even have free bikes for the use of their guests. Here are just a few of them:

The Carneros Inn offers complimentary bicycles on a first-come, first-served basis for guests 14 years of age and older. Because the Inn is located on the busy Carneros Highway, be sure to wear a helmet. There’s also access to quieter routes like Los Carneros Road and Cuttings Wharf Road, which takes you to Moore’s Landing on the Napa River.

The River Terrace Inn is directly on the banks of the Napa River and at the beginning of the new bike and walking trail to downtown Napa. Drop by the front desk and register to borrow a custom cruiser bicycle to explore the many shopping and dining areas in Napa area.

Bardessono Hotel and Spa features a fleet of elegant, European-style Mozie bicycles that are complimentary for guests. And its Yountville location is perfect for cruising around – the town is small, flat, and easily bikable.

Meadowood Napa Valley has a fleet of sturdy mountain bikes for the use of its guests. Ride along Meadowood Drive to the Silverado Trail, which takes you the full length of the valley, including many cross-roads to Highway 29. For shorter rides, there are roads and paths throughout the resort and around the golf course.

Indian Springs Resort offers super-cool, customized Public Bikes for guests to use both around the property and into the adorable town of Calistoga. Because the town is only a few blocks long, biking is the best possible way to get around.

Be sure to use Visit Napa Valley’s bike map to plan out your ride.
