You’ve clearly done your due diligence and know the Napa Valley is one of the most romantic destinations in the world. With endless vineyard scapes, seasonal dishes, and wine that’s often called ‘bottled poetry,’ the Napa Valley is the perfect couples escape. But, did you know that each of the five towns that make up the 35-mile long valley has its own recipe to keep the romance alive?

We’ve taken the work out of planning a romantic date night (but that can stay a secret between us), so whether you’re looking for a five-star meal or a dip in the mud, we have the date options for you. Pick and choose your own perfect itinerary by town and invite your loved one along for a date that’s sure to get the sparks flying.

Napa

If you’ve chosen the vibrant city of Napa, you’re probably looking for a more eventful date night filled with experiences and a later ‘last call.’

Make date night an adventure and learn something new in a cooking class at The CIA at Copia. Decked out in aprons and chef’s hats, learn from the pros and work together to create something delicious — but beware, a cook-off may be in your future.

Looking for a drink with a view? Head into downtown Napa for cocktails at Archer Hotel’s rooftop bar, Sky & Vine. Cozy up next to a heater and take in the scenic town of Napa while happily sipping, or, if the date is going really well, order some bar bites to enjoy together. If wine is more your thing, there are plenty of tasting rooms nearby.

Nothing says romance like a delicious French dinner for two at Angele. Sit on the patio if weather permits, or enjoy the charming dining room and impressive menu.

If you’re not quite ready to call it a night, add a sweet treat to your date and head over to Anette’s Chocolates to flirt over a box of chocolates like a couple of high school sweethearts.

Starting to think that one day in Napa just isn’t enough? It’s not (trust us). Reserve a room at The Setting Inn and take your time exploring.

Yountville

If food is your shared love language, Yountville’s culinary legacy is sure to deliver.

If you’re looking for a restaurant with a gorgeous view, check out Brix Restaurant and Gardens. With outdoor dining, complete with views of vineyards and the Mayacamas Mountains, as well as more than two acres of gardens and orchards, Brix is the perfect Napa Valley treat.

For a more casual date option, head to Oakville Grocery to gather some essential picnic supplies. Either make use of their quaint patio or take your delicacies to go and head to Yountville’s Veteran Memorial Park or pick a bench along the Napa River to enjoy a romantic picnic for two.

Looking to stay true to the Napa Valley experience? Plan a wine tasting on the sun-drenched patio of Cosentino Winery — their Taste & Treat experience features limited production wines paired with Woodhouse Chocolates.

Want to up your game and add a hot air balloon ride? Be sure to book a room at Bardessono Hotel and Spa, you’ll want to stay the night to make the 4 a.m. wake-up call.

St. Helena

The town of St. Helena may be best known for its small-town charm and upscale offerings, but there are countless options if you’re looking for a more relaxed date night.

Perfect for the active couple, reconnect in nature on a peaceful hike through St. Helena’s redwood forests with Active Wine Adventures. The private hike and beer tour includes scenic views, lunch and craft beers in a relaxing beer garden.

To keep date night mellow, without compromising on quality, make your way to Clif Family Tasting Room and be sure to order some fresh eats from their food truck — if you’re there on a Wednesday night, you’ll even get to experience their special ‘Street Food’ Night featuring culinary creations from around the world.

If you just want to enjoy each other’s company over a cocktail, a stop at Goose & Gander is a must. With a menu of cleverly-named cocktails and a wine list hopefully longer than your ‘honey-do list’, neither of you will have a shortage of options to ‘cheers’ your perfect date with.

Looking to relax after an adventurous day with your loved one? Stay at Wine Country Inn and Cottages to add an extra hint of romance.

Calistoga

Ah, Calistoga. Serene, rustic and refreshing. The town of Calistoga is the perfect place for couples looking to unwind.

This town is known for its spa offerings — specifically, its mineral mud baths. You’ll find no shortage of mud treatments, and if you and your partner are willing to get dirty, we recommend the volcanic ash mud bath at Calistoga Spa Hot Springs.

Up the romance factor at Bennett Lane Winery. The wines themselves are sure to sweep your partner off their feet, but if you really want to make this trip extra memorable, the winery also offers three different proposal packages.

No trip to Calistoga would be complete without a meal at Solbar at Solage. Offering savory seasonal dishes and beautifully handcrafted cocktails, Solbar will definitely have your partner gazing lovingly… at the food (we hope you too).

Not ready to get back to reality quite yet? Brannan Cottage Inn is the perfect place to hide from your responsibilities for at least another day.

No matter which town you choose, or if you decide to explore the entire 35 miles on a longer adventure for two, the Napa Valley is a couple’s paradise.
