June 9, 2020 Napa, CA – Visit Napa Valley and the Napa Valley Vintners invite the Napa Valley community to support local businesses and show their Napa Valley spirit by rediscovering their own backyard.

“Our community of small businesses, including the vast majority of Napa wineries, are ready to get back to work and provide much-needed jobs for our families. In the true spirit of neighbors helping neighbors, now is the perfect time to get out and explore what our valley has to offer,” said Linda Reiff, President & CEO of Napa Valley Vintners.

As part of the #NVSpirit campaign, hospitality-related businesses - including hotels; wineries; restaurants; and retailers, have created an “Explore Your Backyard” offer targeted to Napa County residents. The more than 60 offers, valid through July 31, 2020, include a savings of 20 percent or more, or a value-added experience, to inspire the community to ‘dine, sip, shop, and stay’ in Napa Valley and support the more than 60,000 people who work in the wine and tourism industries. All offers are currently posted on NapaValleySpirit.com

The website also includes the opportunity for members of the Napa Valley community to enter to win a “Napa Valley Staycation” for two guests. The package includes a two-night stay at Vista Collina Resort in Napa, inclusive of a picnic breakfast basket with a bottle of sparkling wine; wine tasting at Trinitas Cellars; dinner at Olive & Hay; as well as a tour and tasting at Inglenook; a Gourmet Express lunch on the Napa Valley Wine Train; a gift certificate for $200 to Coqueta in Yountville; and a Mercantile 12 Napa Valley gift tote with locally made items. To be eligible to win applicants must live or work in Napa county. Entries will be accepted through June 30, 2020. Suggested “Locals’ itineraries” for each Napa Valley town, including American Canyon; Napa; Yountville; St. Helena; and Calistoga are also posted to inspire locals to further explore beyond their backyard.
“Napa Valley residents may experience the world-class hospitality that our visitors have always enjoyed, with the added assurance that our restaurants and retail businesses, as well as wineries and hotels, are committed to practice the highest safety standards, above and beyond the mandated requirements, in order to protect the health and welfare of guests, employees and our community,” said Linsey Gallagher, president and CEO for Visit Napa Valley.

The program also features “Napa Valley Spirit” pennants, window graphics, and stickers for participating businesses to display or share with the Napa Valley community, as well suggested creative headlines to celebrate relaxed shelter-in-place restrictions. Examples include “You are the people we’ve been waiting for, come rediscover the Napa Valley Spirit;” “Explore your backyard, beyond your own backyard;” and “6 ft apart has never felt closer together.”
Social distancing, indoor mask use, limited occupancies, and other health protocols are required by the Napa County Public Health Officer. It is important to make and/or confirm reservations directly, as individual businesses will open on their own schedule.
