Music in the Vineyards is a nationally-acclaimed chamber music festival held each August in the Napa Valley. The three-week festival showcases nearly 40 world-class artists-in-residence from the U.S., Europe and Canada performing new and classic chamber music repertoire in stunning winery settings. With complimentary wine tasting at each intermission and breathtaking views of the Napa Valley, this unique combination of Wine Country ambiance and world class talent allows artists and audiences alike to experience the intimacy of chamber music as it was intended to be performed. Now in its 16th year, MITV was recently hailed as one of the top seven chamber music festivals in the U.S., by Strad Magazine. Music in the Vineyards festival, a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, is made possible in part through support from two of Napa Valley's most popular events: Kitchens in the Vineyards spring home tour and Tables in the Vineyards intimate epicurean experiences. Kitchens in the Vineyards, now in its 14th season, is one-of-a-kind home, kitchen and garden tour of five, impressive Napa Valley homes with local chef samplings and cookbook authors. Tables in the Vineyards features a handful of intimate epicurean events reflecting Napa Valley lifestyles auch as private dinners and tours of vintners' estates. In 2010 MITV premiered, "Roll Over Beethoven" a new event held at Silver Oak Vineyards. Illustrious vintners and wine industry veterans like Bill Phelps, Agustin Huneeus, Violet Grgich, Jeff Gargiulo, and David Duncan came together to show off their musical talents, have fun and support MITV. Guests at the event were treated to performances in classical, jazz and rock-and-roll, an elegant dinner from some of the best of the Bay Area's celebrated "Street food" vendors, a small live auction of special experiences and delicate and inspired wines crafted by our vintner participants and hosts.
