Mother’s Day is an opportunity to give moms a shout-out, whether it’s brunch, a gift, or flowers. In Napa Valley, it’s always a great time to treat Mom to a meal or outing to recognize the love and kindness she has exhibited over the years. And if you are a mother, it’s a good opportunity to take the afternoon to decompress with your family and the ones you love most.

While there are dozens of options for celebrating Mother’s Day in Napa Valley, here are some of the ones that have grabbed our attention.

Wineries

  • V. Sattui Winery – This iconic St. Helena winery is raising the glass for moms on Mother’s Day with a special Bubble Bar tasting on the Stone Winery Terrace overlooking Vittorio’s Vineyard. The effervescent lineup includes Dry Prestige Cuvée Brut, the newly released Blanc de Noir, the festive Cuvée Rouge sparkling rosé, and Moscato frizzante. Food add-ons are available as well, including an indulgent chocolate truffle pairing by in-house chocolatier Kat Zide.

  • Robert Mondavi Winery – Executive Chef Jeff Mosher’s three-course Mother’s Day Celebration Lunch is paired with Mondavi’s Estates Tier wines. The outdoor brunch on the terrace includes views of award-winning To Kalon Vineyard. This is a no-kids affair so moms can enjoy a little break from the kids while celebrating her day.

  • Merryvale Vineyards – Situated in the heart of St. Helena, Merryvale is a short walk from brunch favorites The Charter Oak and Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch. This year, the winery is welcoming moms and accompanying guests on Mother’s Day with a complimentary taste of Solstice Sparkling at the beginning of any regular tasting experience.

  • Silverado Vineyards – The Mother’s Day Wine, Body, and Soul is a full-on event at this Napa Valley winery, where special festivities for the day include morning yoga, a brunch buffet, and – of course – white and rosé wines. Participating moms will receive special treatment, including long-stemmed roses and some Silverado swag. Space is limited and reservations are required.

  • Clif Family Bruschetteria – Brunch at this laidback St. Helena tasting room is a jovial affair, and Executive Chef John McConnell has created a Mother’s Day menu that is full of springtime flavor. Menu items include smoked salmon benedict, asparagus with gribiche and country ham, French Toast with lemon-ricotta and macerated blueberries, and more. Regular food truck menu items (and wine, of course) are available as well.

  • Chandon – This Yountville winery’s all-female winemaking team – led by head winemaker and mother of two, Pauline Lhote – has put together a special Mother’s Day tasting flight of four rosé sparkling wines. The tasting is seated and includes small bites, as well as a brief tour of the beautiful estate. Reservations are suggested and guests can add-on select gifts at time of booking.

  • Pope Valley Winery – Mother’s Day Brunch at Pope Valley Winery is catered by Rosey Cooks. Options include a juice bar, a choice of mimosa, brut rose, or sauvignon blanc reserve, as well as delicious brunch fixings, including a sweet and savory candied bacon.

  • Bennett Lane Winery – The gang at this Calistoga winery has selected the day before Mother’s Day as the date to release their new 2021 Napa Valley Rosé, a pink wine that has become a bit of a cult classic in recent years. Light snacks will also be available. Moms (and other family members, of course) are encouraged to wear pink for the occasion.

  • Vista Collina Resort – Take Mom to the lawn at Vista Collina for their Mother’s Day Rosé Brunch. Besides a free glass of sparkling wine, the resort is offering a sumptuous buffet lunch with live music. Restaurants

  • Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil – The terrace at this St. Helena restaurant has some of the best views in Napa Valley, and Executive Chef Robert Curry has put together a delicious Mother’s Day brunch menu showcasing the traditions of French and California cuisine. Start with a rosé cocktail during the resort’s “Rosé All May” month-long celebration.

  • TRUSS Restaurant + Bar – The restaurant at the new Four Seasons in Napa Valley is offering a Mother’s Day Brunch in their open dining room, with gorgeous views of vineyards and the mountains as the backdrop. Moms and guests can enjoy house-made Bloody Mary’s, mimosas, and Bellini’s with French Toast Brulee, Classic Eggs Benedict, Prime Rib, and more before partaking of desserts prepared by pastry chef Josh Gaulin.

  • FARM at Carneros – Mother’s Day Brunch at Carneros Resort & Spa in Napa is served family-style, with spring vegetable tartelette, white asparagus niçoise salad, lobster benedict and more. Afterwards, moms can explore the gardens and play lawn games while sipping a glass of sparkling wine.

  • Lucy Restaurant and BarBardessono’s restaurant in Yountville is serving up a Mother’s Day Special. With menu highlights that include spiced crab cakes, petite prime rib, and a warm cherry & almond frangipane tart, this fork-to-table restaurant includes sustainable ingredients that are just as lovely in their presentation as they are in every bite.

  • Brix – Just north of Yountville, Brix is one of the most popular big-occasion restaurants in Napa Valley, complete with vineyard views. The Mother’s Day menu (for brunch and dinner) features special items such as Executive Chef Cary Delbridge’s Maine Lobster omelet, ahi tuna crudo, and a salted caramel and chocolate tart. Reservations are recommended.

Other Celebrations

  • Napa Valley Museum Yountville – Visitors are raving about this Yountville museum’s wacky and wonderful exhibit, “Dangerous Games: Treacherous Toys We Loved as Kids,” which includes old favorites like Jarts and retro science kits that came with real uranium. Admission for Mom is free on Mother’s Day (with one paid adult or two paid kids’ full-priced admissions), and Mom will also receive a free retro candy gift—sharing (for them) is optional.

  • Ackerman Heritage House – Authentic English tea service at the circa-1889 Ackerman Heritage House in downtown Napa is always a good idea. Mother’s Day tea service includes delectable tea sandwiches, dainty tarts, seasonal house-made jams (and lemon curd!) and savory bites paired with organic teas. Wines from Ackerman Family Vineyards are available by the glass and bottle for an additional charge.

  • Jessel Gallery – This Napa art gallery is the oldest and largest gallery in Napa Valley—showcasing work from a mix of established artists and newcomers to the local scene. On Mother’s Day, the entire gallery will display flora and fauna images; a discount of 20 percent on clothing will support a fundraiser for relief efforts in Ukraine. After perusing the art, take Mom to a wine tasting at Bougetz Cellars next door.
