In conjunction with Art Council Napa Valley's Arts in April celebration, we are proud to present The Art of Cheese. This month-long exhibit features artwork from renowned cheese artist, Mike Geno, daily interactive wine and cheese experiences and weekend workshops dedicated to all things cheese. Learn how to make homemade Mozzarella from Chef Nash of St. Helena's Pizzeria Tra Vigne and Tres Posti; Wine Meets Cheese: Six Slam-Dunk Pairings with cheese aficionado and James Beard Award Winner, Janet Fletcher; The Art of Making the Perfect Cheese Plate with 2017's Cheesemonger Invitational winner, Jessica Lawrenz; Cheese Painting 101 with Mike Geno and much more.
Join us all month long, as we infuse cheese into our tastings and Interactive Wine Experiences at the winery. Sample from our rolling cheese cart while you taste our sustainably farmed single vineyard, estate grown wines or dive even further into the art of wine and cheese pairings through one of our unique experiences. Choose from our Five Bordeaux Varietals and Your Five Senses, Aromatherapy with a Corkscrew, Cabernet Sauvignon Collector Tasting or our one-of-a-kind, Chef's Table.
Wednesday, April 12: Celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day with us at the winery or on social as we decide which cheesy recipe is the crowd pleaser and crowned the winner of St. Supéry's Grilled Cheese Competition.
Monday, April 24: Participate in #SauvBlanc Day as we celebrate the varietal and all of its unique characteristics paired with a selection of cheeses from Bay Area creameries.
We are open by appointment daily. Reservations can be made online or please call (707) 302-3438.
Mike Geno, a Philadelphia based artist, recreates the same hunger inducing attraction with paint that he finds most appetizing in his food models and is best known for his ongoing series in cheese portraits. With over 50 paintings, explore our upstairs art gallery while sipping on wine and see art imitate life as you sample cheese from local Bay Area creameries. Mike says, "I only paint things that I find attractive and appetizing. I like to translate what I find the most seductive about by subject. And cheese, it turns out, is the absolute perfect match for the way I paint. I get hungry looking at cheese." Mike's paintings are available for purchase.
Cheese will take center stage each weekend throughout the month of April as we host a number of different workshops lead by top cheesemongers from around the Bay Area. Reservations are required and seating is limited so make sure to reserve your spot early. Reservations can be made online or by calling (707) 302-3448. Check back as more workshops will be added.
