“Listen to the vines – they will tell you what to do” is a piece of advice that the Staglin Family has not forgotten since it was told to them in 1992 by famed enologist Andre Tchelistcheff. This very special winemaker dinner, with proceeds benefiting the One Mind Institute, will showcase the vines in their Rutherford Bench estate and the close collaboration that the family has with their winemaker and vineyard manager to carefully farm the land and coax optimal ripeness, complexity and intensity from the vines with each harvest. We will begin the evening with a reception and a refreshing glass of Salus 2014 Estate Chardonnay between the vines and under one of our majestic oak trees in the shadow of Napa’s Grape Crusher Statue. As the reception concludes we will walk between the vines begin our five-course dinner set outdoors on the Meritage Resort’s Vineyard Deck featuring a few of the family’s favorite wines and vintages. The Meritage Resort culinary team will create a variety of mouthwatering flavors, while Instagram worthy memories will be made with the dessert table, a 60-foot table of cheese, filled with local and imported cheeses, with a variety of textures, flavors and unique preparations. Throughout the evening we will have musical guests performing to provide added entertainment between courses and while learning about the beautiful history and winemaking style of the Staglin family from Shari Staglin. 21 and over only.
