Napa Valley's Bottlerock Festival has just become exponentially more colorful, vibrant and artful due to a carefully selected temporary display of five grand Gordon Huether installations dispersed throughout the festival grounds.

The organizers of the nationally acclaimed 3-day music event, with a combined attendance of 120,000 visitors in 2016, approached Gordon a few months ago and invited him to feature a curated selection of his sculptural work.

Bottlerock is a one-of-kind Napa Valley outdoor music festival that not only features world famous musicians, but also unique culinary adventures, world-class wines, VIP experiences, art and so much more! This year, Bottlerock is happening on Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28, 2017.

“BottleRock reflects the best of Napa Valley, pairing great music with the amazing wine, food and weather for which the Valley is known,” stated Justin Dragoo of Latitude 38 Entertainment. “For our art program in 2017, we wanted to continue the theme and feature Gordon who is perhaps our area’s most renowned artist. He is internationally acclaimed but makes his home here in Napa. The Valley is lucky to have Gordon as one of our own, and we are thrilled to showcase his work at the festival.”

Huether’s contemporary sculptural work oftentimes incorporates repurposed materials, features bright colors, is sometimes contemplative and evokes almost always a sense of joy. Combining fine art with music seems like a no-brainer. Visual, two- or three dimensional artistic expression has always been a part of music – the most apparent example is the classic vinyl LP cover – and simply puts additional emphasis on the artist’s message.

Fine art elevates the musical experience, serves as a visual display of human emotion and experiences expressed through sound, lyrics and rhythm, and further taps into our creative minds, leaving visitors imbued with inspiration. The added visual experience adds another dimension of a sensual experience as visitors meander through the perfectly laid out festival grounds, enjoying exclusive Napa Valley culinary delights, libations and more.

A consistent theme throughout Huether’s body of work is his exploration of different media and investigating the seductive properties of richly saturated color, natural and artificial light sources, luscious and diverse texture, natural, found and salvaged materials and quirky, sometimes unusual imagery, to offer viewers a complex intellectual experience.
