Whether you’re looking for a lighter-fare option or are on a tight budget, these local happy hours are a great way to eat well for not much dough.


Lucy Restaurant and Bar. Monday through Thursday, 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Draft pints are $5, signature cocktails and wines are $10, and small bites like Big-eye tuna won-tons; prosciutto, fig, and machego flatbread; and chicken drumettes are $4 to $6.

St. Helena

Archetype. “Social Hour” is Monday, Thursday and Friday, 5 to 7 pm. Specialty cocktails are $5, wine and beer $5-$10. The menu includes pork chicharron, deviled duck eggs, and Nashville hot chicken wings.

Harvest Table. Every TuesdaySunday from 4 to 6 pm at the bar, you can find seared California sea bass tacos for $4 each or enjoy their super stacked Harvest Table burger, fries, and draft beer for only $18.

Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch. Monday through Thursday. 4 to 6 pm. All well drinks available for $7, all beers $4, and Long Meadow Ranch wines for $9 and $10. The extensive “Growers’ Happy Hour” menu includes pulled pork sliders with barbecue sauce and coleslaw; barbecues oysters; and grass-fed beef meatballs with tomato marmalade.

PRESS. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5 to 6:30 pm. Known for its $1 rotating oysters and featuring special cocktails for $7 and daily beer for $4, along with a number of other bar bites.


Calistoga Inn & Brewery. Monday through Friday, 4 to 6 pm. Pints are $5, pitchers are $15, wines are $6, and well drinks are $6. The small menu includes pizza, spicy cheese quesadillas, pulled pork sliders, and kielbasa sausage.

Sam’s Social Club. Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. House-brewed beer $4 for pints, house wines $6, and small bites $9.

Bosko’s Trattoria. Every day from 4:30 to 6:30. All wines $8; all draft beers $6; and half price on all appetizers, including crispy polenta stack, lemon-baked artichoke, and braised Brussels sprouts with pancetta and pine nuts.
