Napa Valley has been known to be at the forefront of sustainable agriculture, so it’s no wonder that the valley’s hotels are also leading in sustainability. Whether it’s renewable energy, organic practices, or locally sourced products, these sustainable stays offer an eco-conscious experience in Napa Valley.

River Terrace Inn – in Downtown Napa

The River Terrace Inn is nestled next to the hiking and biking trails of the Oxbow Preserve. The hotel offers everything the eco-conscious traveler needs. Water refill stations and reusable water bottles, EV charging stations, pet-friendly accommodations, a recycling program, and eco-friendly lighting throughout the property ensure that any trip will have a minimal impact on the environment.

Carneros Resort and Spa – in Carneros

Built from the ground-up with natural light, ventilation and natural materials in mind, Carneros Resort is designed to seamlessly integrate the natural landscape of the Carneros region, creating healthier environments and reducing energy usage. The resort has invested extensively in a composting program, which is used in the culinary gardens that produce much of the organic produce for the food and beverage program. Careful consideration has been given to everything from the vehicles the housekeeping team uses, to how discarded soap is utilized, to the native and naturalized species planted throughout the property.

Indian Springs Resort – in Calistoga

Indian Springs Calistoga’s palm tree-lined drive unfolds into 17 stunning acres of rolling hills and ponds, lush olive trees and fragrant gardens, bursting with lavender and roses. All the natural elements found in the pool and spa treatments come entirely from the resort’s own land. Four on-site thermal geysers supply a constant stream of mineral water, plus a substantial deposit of pure volcanic ash runs through the property. Water and ash are combined to create the mud in their famous mud baths, and the water itself is fed directly into the mineral pool, steam rooms, and Buddha Pond.

Mount View Hotel – in Calistoga

Mount View Hotel's vision is to create exceptional experiences that inspire people to indulge while doing good in the world. With every stay, you help keep fresh water flowing and provide critical access to clean water to communities in developing nations and around the world. Plus, eco-friendly aromatherapy bath products and rooms cleaned with green housekeeping practices come standard with your stay.

Bardessono – in Yountville

As one of the few Platinum LEED certified hotels in the United States, Bardessono’s environmental commitments are reflected everywhere. An underground geothermal system heats and cools the guest rooms, the spa, and the domestic hot water supply. Almost no offsite energy is used – hidden on the flat rooftops are 940 solar panels that provide significant amounts of the hotel’s electrical demand. Occupancy sensors in guest rooms automatically decrease energy consumption when guests are not in their rooms, and gorgeous woods used throughout the hotel are milled from salvaged trees. Non-toxic, non-allergenic materials were used in construction. Organic linens and cleaning supplies, as well as recycling and composting programs, are standard. Products in the restaurant and spa are sourced primarily from local organic or sustainable producers.
