The Full Long Meadow Ranch Experience: From "Custom the Bull" to a hidden Andy Warhol
April 2, 2014
Long Meadow Ranch in St. Helena offers so many exciting and different styles of tours and tastings that showcase the many facets of this Napa Valley farm-restaurant-winery from many different perspectives. LMR is known for their integrated organic farming system (the results of which can be purchase onsite), award-winning wines, extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed beef, meticulously cared for eggs and honey, and heirloom fruits and vegetables. They have a wine & olive oil tasting, food and wine pairings, or stop in for a tasty bite at their beautiful restaurant.
The ranch's Full Circle Experience combines the many smaller experiences (olive oil, wine, food, the list goes on…) into one four-hour excursion featuring an in-depth look at their 650-acre historic ranch nestled in the Mayacamas mountain range.
The tour starts at the Logan-Ives House at Long Meadow Ranch Winery with fresh coffee and tea, fruit and pastry. Caffeinated guests are then whisked off to the Long Meadow Ranch's Mayacamas Estate, their home ranch located high above the Napa Valley in the Mayacamas Mountains. Here, guests can enjoy an exclusive experience showcasing the very heart of LMRW operations. Explore the ranch on foot (or aboard a vehicle) while taking in stunning views of the Napa Valley from their organically farmed vineyards and orchards. Chances are you'll also catch sights of their Highland cattle, horses, chickens and other ranch inhabitants, including the famous Custom the Bull.
At the adobe-style winery, visit their wine cave and frantoio (keep an eye out for the Warhol), one of the few traditional olive oil mills in Napa County, before returning to the Logan-Ives House for a seasonally inspired meal paired with LMR wines.
Long Meadow Ranch’s Full Circle Experience is offered daily at 10:30am for lunch at $195 per person or at 3:30pm for dinner at $225 per person. Please allow four hours for your experience.
