At approximately 3:20 am Sunday, August 24, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred northwest of American Canyon and 6 miles from downtown Napa. Several structures in the city of Napa, many of historic nature, received significant damage. At this time, it appears the majority of the damage was centered on specific areas in the city of Napa. The regions around Yountville, St. Helena and Calistoga seem to have experienced minimal damage and disruption. For travelers coming to the Napa Valley, most businesses are open as usual, however, we suggest calling first to confirm your plans. For a current list of businesses open, please click here.
