The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena updated its signature restaurant, Wine Spectator Greystone Restaurant (WSGR) in October 2015. The restaurant, which prides itself on being a learning environment for its students, announced the return of its popular lunch service along with a professional staff during dinner in its updated dining room. Open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner, WSGR boasts regionally explored farm-to-table cuisine. With ingredients from the CIA’s farm and gardens, the restaurant evokes a modern farmhouse feel with an intimate 70 seats.

Ca’ Momi Osteria, the new restaurant opened in October by Ca’ Momi in downtown Napa, now offers lunch daily, L’aperitivo happy hour with reduced-priced wine, beer and cicchetti from 3 to 5 p.m. and late-night hours from 10 p.m. on weekends. Sinegal Estate Winery opened its new tasting room and terrace, wine caves, and VIP lounge on Inglewood Ave in St. Helena on January 4, 2016. The new luxury tasting facility is designed by Signum Architecture of St. Helena, whose previous work includes HALL Winery, CADE and BRAND Napa Valley. The 30-acre property’s dynamic layout creates a quintessential yet idyllic Napa Valley experience. The Wine Foundry launched a new sleek and modern tasting room in south Napa on October 8, featuring floor-to-ceiling visibility into the winery. The tasting room is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and by appointment any day of the week. Tastings are $20-$25 each, refundable with the purchase of two bottles. By request and with appointment, they offer tours of the winery and barrel room, as well as cupcake pairings with wine flights. The winery is currently exhibiting the Abstract Topophilia (Greek for ‘Love of Place’), by transcendental artist Ben Joyce, including a striking, one-of-a-kind, original piece of Napa Valley, commissioned by the winery in 2015.

The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) has expanded its California Campus with the addition of the Copia property in downtown Napa. The CIA at Copia will reestablish the facility as a focal point for wine and food enthusiasts to experience the Napa Valley. The building will be open to the public at no charge, and by mid-Spring expect to see a new restaurant and retail store at the property, as well as wine courses and cooking demonstrations for wine and food lovers.

Kenzo Tsujimoto has announced the opening of his new authentic Japanese restaurant in downtown Napa in Spring 2016. Already a seasoned restaurateur with four Kenzo Estate restaurants and tasting rooms in his native Japan, entering the Napa Valley culinary scene has been a long time dream of Tsujimoto. Miminashi, Napa Valley’s first and only “Izakaya-style” (Japanese pub) in downtown Napa, is set to open in March 2016 by chef and owner Curtis Di Fede. The Carneros Inn will make various renovations to their family pool, the Apple Orchard and guest entry through March 15, 2016. Auberge Resorts Collection will break ground in 2016 on VieVage Napa Valley, a new destination resort in the Carneros district, which is slated to open in 2018 as the second resort from Auberge’s new VieVage Hotels and Resorts lifestyle brand.
